After installing Lord of the Rings Battle For Middle Earth 2 I kept getting DirectX Errors, and the program wouldn’t start.
I realized that somehow the program wasn’t able to change resolution.
Google how to backk up the registry, after doing that. Go to start, then run. Type regedit then hit Enter. Go to Hkey Local machine. Electronic arts. Electronic arcts (again) The battle for middle eart 2. Then double click the string you see, and edit it to your new CD key's. To fix this I added -xres 1680 -yres 1050 after the quotes in the shortcut.
“C:Program FilesElectronic ArtsThe Battle for Middle-earth ™ IIlotrbfme2.exe” -xres 1680 -yres 1050
1680 and 1050 is my widescreen resolution, you should add whatever resolution you have set in windows if you get this problem.
