Minitab Statistical Software is a powerful statistical software everyone can use from anywhere. Visualize, analyze and harness the power of data with Minitab. Our comprehensive and trusted analyses combined with unparalleled ease-of-use make it simple to get deep, accurate insights. MINITAB is a statistical program designed for data analysis. With MINITAB the user can analyze his data and improve his products and services. The program features an interactive Assistant that guides the user through his analysis projects and ensures that the results of the analysis are accurate and trustworthy.

Minitab is a general purpose statistical software for Window-based computers using Windows 7 or higher. Minitab is designed for easy interactive use. Minitab automates calculations and the creation of graphs allowing the user to focus more on data analysis and end results. A minimum free space of at least 2 GB is required. Minitab is compatible with the following browsers:

The Minitab download is available to all current UHCL students, faculty, and staff. This license will expire each year in September so you must renew it each year. There is no charge to you for this software.

How to Install Minitab 19

  1. Copy the minitab.lic to your computer's desktop first as you will need it to complete the installation.
  2. Click on this link: https://downloads.uhcl.edu/install/minitab.zip
  3. Enter your UHCL login credentials.
  4. You should see the Welcome to Minitab 19 Setup screen.
  5. Follow the screen prompts and accept the license agreement.
  6. How to activate the software? Select “Activate with a license”
  7. Select a Licensing Method:
  8. Select File and click Browse…
  9. Browse to your desktop and select the Minitab.lic file and click
    “Open”. It will fill in the file path.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Accept the default installation path or browse to save in a different location on your computer.
  12. Click Next and then Install and follow the prompts.
  13. Complete all the necessary information to register your software when you first open Minitab.

Where To Get It:

  • Download Minitab
    • Click the Get Minitab button above.
    • Double click the file that downloads (ODUMinitab.exe for Windows or Minitab19ODU2020.pkg for Mac)
    • Follow the prompts to install the software.
  • Also available in the Monarch Virtual Environment (MoVE) General Lab.
  • On ODU-managed computers, download the software from the Ivanti Portal Manager (Windows) or Jamf Self Service (Mac).
