- Melodyne (Melodyne.exe). Melodyne is a complex sound editor, specially developed for professionals to aid them to create original audio content, by removing unnecessary song parts, modifying parameters like timing, rhythm, volume, or formant spectrum. The embedded features are various and numerous while it offers support for plugin interfaces.
- The biggest difference between Melodyne and Auto-Tune is that Auto-Tune is a realtime linear form of tuning, where as Melodyne is offline and nonlinear. Antare’s Auto-Tune’s realtime tuning interface. To explain this in greater detail with Auto-Tune, vocals enter the plugin and are immediately tuned with little latency.
Open the Melodyne plug-in and then set the playback marker in your DAW to the start of the audio track that needs correction. Click the Transfer button in Melodyne to “record arm” the plug-in and then press play in your DAW to transfer the audio. Once completed, press stop. The Transfer will automatically be disabled. Celemony’s ARA2 tech was added to REAPER in version 5.97 enabling instant transfer of pitch data from an audio file in reaper to Melodyne VST3. Changes in the audio on the track, like trim edits, are updated within the plugin.
It’s the best integration of Melodyne thus far in REAPER and it’s a massive improvement to the old realtime transfer way previously.
